I’ve always loved irony. There is something ironic about my early education considering where I stand today, I can’t help but smile. This existential journey to where I am today was unexpected certainly by that young man all those years ago.
When education became necessity rather than obligation, something shifted. On my own terms, I became inquisitive, drawn not by obligation but by a creative curiosity. A different way of seeing, questioning and finding alternative knowledge.
During my Master’s, I found myself neglecting the counselling studies component. Immersed in a flood of new knowledge, I became preoccupied with a deeper question: how does society perceive someone like me in the new millennium?
Never one to sit still, I’ve had the privilege of working on powerful projects—interviewing veterans and families and witnessing their stories. It’s humbling, essential work that fuels my purpose and deepens my commitment to creative meaningful storytelling.
